I see it becoming a non-issue like mixed race marriage and equal rights for women and blacks.

Will there be some hold-outs who just can't stand it? Sure. There's still bigots and racists and misogynists that don't like any of the above.

But really, no one pays attention to them. And no one cares about their opinions just like no one will care if Evangelicals won't cave.

You've already lost the battle, deal with it.

They won't cave. They'll just grow less and less relevant and as they die off they'll be replaced by civilized people.

It will be kind of like the Amish - A quaint relic of an earlier time.

I did read your article. A painful twist of reasoning when it got to accepting divorce.

Both threads reference the dwindling of religious extremism and describe the displeasure of that by it's adherents.

Jesus accepted divorce under certain conditions. We're talking about normal, God-ordained heterosexual marriage to being with, not the travesty known as gay marriage.

Actually, Christianity is projected to grow globally 35% between 2010 and 2050, and I don't mean the fake, Gospel abandoning kind. It is on the decline in the dying US, but we're only 5% of the world's population.

As I've said on another thread, Christianity has always been on the wrong side of history, beginning with the Roman Empire and a cross. Rome is dead, and Jesus is doing fine.

I really sense a growing resolve among evangelicals to not cave on this issue.

That was an excellent article, JMag.

"It takes quite a messiah complex to school the actual Messiah on moral and ethical truth, all while claiming to follow him."

No, Christian owned businesses are just being asked to facilitate gay marriages or lose their home or business.

LOL, people have been predicting the end of Christianity for 2,000 years, and millions have been murdered in the effort. As the saying goes, the church is an anvil that has worn out many a hammer.

What you ignore is bigotry and racism are the anti-Biblical position, unlike the pro-gay position. Bigotry and racism have do with Darwin, not Christ.

I don't think he's predicting the end of Christianity. No point in that, it will be with us for a long time yet, but it can be shaped into a more accepting entity. The anvil may have worn out a lot of hammers, but those hammers shaped the anvil in turn.

Well, now Christians seem to accept it under all conditions. Thanks Jesus!! He'll be accepting gay marriage soon enough.

Good luck playing fundy extremists with your friends.

Wrong again, only with adultery or abandonment.

The extremist position is allowing two men/women to marry, very few countries allow that.
