At least the SCOTUS ruled it a tax. Now we know where we're headed: to European-style socialism. Today was a victory for the socialists.

Before long, we'll all be paying 75% of our income to the government.

But at least you'll be a healthy socialist.

Until the state decides it's your time to go.

That's not what the exiting examples of this type of system show.

    Free aspirin for everyone.

Heart surgery and cancer treatments - pass a review panel first and then get in line. A long line.

There won't be many doctors left. The ones that are left will form a union. That will work out just wonderfully.

On the bright side, in a few years a 2.0 and low MCAT score won't stop a persons dream of going to med school. :faint:

No use at all for the squatter or his agenda of domestic terrorism. No use for illegal aliens, employed or unemployed, it doesn't matter.

I think we are about to enter a Dark Ages for medical innovation.

    It may last for generations.

    Absolutely!

Next year begins the 2.3% tax on medical devices. Anyone that thinks that will remain at 2.3% is insanely naive. You think a CT scanner is expensive now? Just wait. As the saying goes: "... when you tax something, you get less of it."

That's well on its way to repeal. We can tweak the HCA as needed as time goes on.
