Just look at the specs. They are spelled out for you in details.
The main differences I see are the A.R.M.S. mount and water proof depth on the 555.

1 pound, 14 ounces? Good Lord! That must be a typo on Eotech's part. When I had a 552 I thought it was freakin heavy at 11.5 ounces. At nearly 2 pounds for the 555 your rifle would capsize!

I'd check reviews of the 555 to see if it is indeed 1 pound 14 ounces.

Two things I didn't know or think about when I got my 552:

They are heavy. Put a 12 ounce soda can on your rifle where you would put the sight and that will give you an idea of what it does to the balance and top heavyness.

The reticle is fuzzy or furry looking. This doesn't hurt function, but you might be put off by it at first if you didn't know about it. Take a look at one in the store or search for pics on the web to see what it looks like.

I did like the sight, it was just too big and sat too high for my PS90. I sold it to a guy at work who got an AR.
