He's a good lil' brainwashed Cuban communist! It's a shame to see a young life wasted on something that has no future.
yeah, it would have made a lot more sense to hold him here in the States against his will until he became old enough to know that he was a free man...
We are all, to some degree, brainwashed. What do you think your perspective would be if you were born and raised in China, Vietnam or Cuba? 'Drew
Against his will? The pic I saw didn't look like he wanted to go back to Cuba. In any case, how old was he?
It's been a long time, but he was held here against HIS will??? I don't recall that part of the story. EDIT - Gwally beat me by over an hour. LOL And I HATE people that don't read all the posts before they reply. d'OH!
Wow. Haven't heard THAT name in a while. Anyone else remember the SNL skit with Chris Kattan as Elian Gonzalez? Freakin hilarious.
He was seven. Call me crazy but, I didn't think we allowed children to make decisions like that. His mother was dead and his father wanted him back in Cuba. He (Elian) and his relatives had their day in court and lost. He belongs with his parents, even if they live in Cuba.
Nah, more than likely, he would have ended up in welfare sucking the Gov. tity like many other "political refugees".
I'm not comparing. But the Opening post had the photo of Elian in Uniform holding a Cuban flag as if being forced into a uniform is proof of his brainwashing. My point is, silly uniforms and flag-waving are common in every country. It does not mean he has necessarily been brainwashed. I don't know about you, but I don't have the ability to look into his soul from simply seeing a photo.
