I've always really liked El Camino's and similiar vehicles. I also really like 4 door short bed trucks.

What is currently on the market? For example, I like the Honda Ridgeline, the Subaru Baja and I don't know any of the names of the short bed small pick ups but I know that Dodge (Dakota I think) and Nissan make them.

I once saw a ford taurus that had the ranchero/el camino treatment. It was done in a butchered redneck style. I saw it in front of a college library of all places.

The holden's are coming state side in most likely 09'. Short of that the only true car/truck is the Subaru.

Honda is trying to pass the ridgeline off as a truck, but with a unibody you ain't fooling me.

Chevy avalanch is popular, but is most definitely truck based.

not much to choose from in that area, be a good little american and buy a suv okay?

Now, don't get me wrong, I love El Caminos, but I have caught hell over that fetish my whole life. What I'm getting at is that the SSR has already come and gone. Why do they think the G8 ST will do any better?

The SSR was a niche vehicle with love it or hate it styling. Most absolutely hated it. It was also heavy, handled like a truck, and far too expensive. The G8 ST may not ever have a huge market share, but I bet it will be considerably more popular than the SSR was.

I remember when I wasa kid I had a toy car that I loved to play with that was modeled after a Subaru Brat so maybe that has something to do with it.
