After having experienced the unfortunate incident, I wanted some clarification on the rules so I can learn.

Now I'm posting it here so everyone can learn. ;)

Here's the reply of Mr. Vince Pinto regarding this sort of incident:

Mc, Mr Pinto could be correct in citing Rule 10.4.9. But your situation is different. There was no breakage of any part in your gun. Now, you have a very interesting case here. It might not be covered by the 14th ed. of IPSC rulebook. Maybe its time for a 15th ed, eh?;)

    singit info lang -

a year ago, i read at the firearm recall list that SOME glock 19s were being recalled because there are times when the shiny thingy (only shiny part part of slide that can not be removed) acts as a firing pin and . . . BOOM! i just can't remember if it happens during regular fire, during stove pipe, failure to feed, inserted mag but open slide, etc.

than again, who would be crazy enough to use a G19 for ipsc;) huh oliver, who?

ppts, which part is that and do you know any serial numbers na affected? That is very dangerous. Ok lang sana kung sa ipsc, total downrange naman nakaharap ang baril, but what if your somewhere where there are other people, then pag load ng mag, boom! ;g Glock should check into their quality control, maybe they missed something.

Actually Glock did check into that, kaya may total re-call. Pinalitan nila yung part, hindi ko lang matandaan kung aling part. May website din ito pero wala na sa favo ko.

Yung AD pag nag show clear ka.

ppts - I'm one of those crazy guys who uses G19 in IPSC. ;)

I think Pio is referring to glocks 6-part upgrade. Medyo matagal na 'to sa 1st gen frames pa.

As for the original question sa thread, here's what unca Vinny had to say:

lesson learned: never start a match with un-gauged ammo

not unless what you're practicing are clearance drills!

Yup, i'm using the same thing and i don't have to gauge my ammo anymore. :) Jason, are you also using Hornady One Shot lube, it's definitely needed so that cases would not hang-up during the belling stage.

i can attest to that! would be buntis shells are aborted!!!!;f

i still gauge ammo using my g17 barrel, whether its a clubshoot or a ppsa sanctioned match. why? well most of us get to shoot only once or at most twice a week. i may not win the match but at least i won't be adding insult to injury by having a jammatic pistol due to ammo. bare minimum, i get my shooting satisfaction^5 ~2

    Batangueno,

If you're selling your paperweight (in 9mm?), lemme know:)
