As of yesterday, I have right at 2000 rounds through my Gen 3 17. It seems that about every 4th to 5th round comes back and plinks me in the forehead.

What can I do about this? I absolutely adore this gun. I am more consistently accurate with it than anything I've ever shot. I don't mind a little plink here and there, but this is becoming a very common occurrence.

    I did try search

do a detail strip of the slide. clean the whole slide and the extractor like it is prepping for surgery.

Try at least a minimal polishing of the extractor all the way around.

    1. Get the 30274 ejector.
    2. If the gun still ejects erratically with the new ejector, that means the extractor is out-of-spec and needs to be replaced. Keep the new ejector in the gun and replace the extractor.
    3. Alternatively you could try a .40 LCI extractor, using a .40 extractor has solved the ejection issue for a lot of 9mm Glock owners.

To get the 30274 ejector, you can try to find a Glock Certified Armorer in your area who would order and install it for you. Or you can order a Gen4 9mm trigger housing which contains the 30274 ejector and install it yourself. You'd have to remove the 30274 ejector from the Gen4 trigger housing and install the 30274 ejector into the Gen3 trigger housing to use in your gun, here are instructions on how to do so:

Only two retailers have been confirmed to sell the Gen4 9mm trigger housing that has the 30274 ejector in it, and they're both backordered at the moment:

Here are some detail strip resources if you need them, you'll need a 3/32 inch punch like the Glock Armorer's Tool:

    Correct slide stop spring position:

On the following page are some Glock Armorer's Manuals, just scroll down to the "G" section. I learned from the Update Manual and 2009 Manual. The 2009 Manual has a few pages missing, but that info can be found in the Update Manual as well.

I would just send it to Glock. If everyone who is having these issues did this they would have more incentive to stop using the new disposable mim extractors. Best of luck.
