I picked up an EFK barrel in .40 for my G32. When I look down the bore I am applauded by what I see. It looks as if the bullet would be shredded to bits as it exits the muzzle. Has anyone had any experience with these barrels, and if so have they encountered this? Thanks

That truly is a unique problem. I've never looked down a barrel and heard clapping.

Seriously though, can you post some photographs?

    Quick google turned up this

It does look to be funked. It almost looks like instead of cutting grooves in the barrel, the lands were welded in.

Looks like dull tooling was used on both.

It seems that a small child did the machine work with no cutting fluid. I'm afraid to to shoot lead through it.

I have never seen such poor machining of a brand new barrel, on any gun ever. Since it is so obvious just in a photo it must be much worse in reality and possibly unusable. I wouldn't shoot it either and good thing you checked it first. I would return it for a refund, unless the company can make it right somehow with a replacement. .

Don't expect customer service from EFK. They aren't known for it.

I’m going to pursue EFK on this matter tomorrow if I have time. I will keep this thread posted.

OMG that's the worst looking crappy bore I've ever seen. Thanks to the OP for the heads-up, because I was tempted to buy a barrel from these guys. Not anymore.

You should demand a refund from those jokers. I don't think it looks safe to shoot.

That's... pretty poor workmanship, from a supposedly "premium" aftermarket barrel manufacturer.

Hope you get your problem resolved to your satisfaction.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you were APPALLED, not applauded.
Yes, that is a crap barrel and should be returned for replacement or refund.

I had a factory beretta m9 barrel that looked very similar... it ended up shredding the jacket off my rounds as they came out. I had shotgun patterns when I was shooting from 3-10 yards... send that thing back.

Another good reason i doubt i'll ever buy from them. I visited their site, they do seem to have a lot of inexpensive parts. Perhaps now we know why, having no quality control surely improves the profits, short-term anyway.

You know a Glock factory G23 barrel will work exactly the same unless you plan to shoot unjacketed lead or you want more chamber support for reloads.

I know. I want to reload lead and shoot .40 in some idpa matches. I carry the gun as a .357sig
