I'm looking at getting either a Champion Molan Labe or a Special Forces in grey, I see the biggest differances between the two are chain link on the SF, and no mag well. The Champion Molan Labe has snake skin, and the mag well, so it looks like both would need a few items added like a ambi safety (I'm a lefty), and or a mag well if I go SF. Which is the better way to go here? I'm not familiar with either the snake skin or chain link so I have no idea which is the better grip surface. Am I missing something else here, and which one would be the better way to go?

Didn't I hear the Molan Labe will be discontinued?

Yes I have this week to order, or get one off GB, before the price rise, than send it back for a ambi safety.

I would just go with the SF, personally.

Special Forces is done to death. Special Forces this, Special Ops that.

How many guns do you have that you can actually yell, "Molon Labe!!!"? And make fun of Athenian boy lovers.

I would get the Champion Molon Labe, I love mine. Special ordered through Jerry Hammond with no FCS and with a gold bead front sight rather than tritium.

I think the "snakeskin" front strap and mainspring are very unique and comfortable.

    Here's a pic of mine: http://www.lenaburgs.net/images/EdBrown/EBMolonLabe2.JPG

I'm getting ready to order a new unique Ed Brown. Bare slide Special Forces slide with basically the Molon Labe frame ("snakeskin" front strap/mainspring with magwell).

    Jerry is the man :)

He was caught red handed selling a used gun as a new one.

I'd go EE if I was getting a Brown. I don't like the feel of snakeskin or chainlink. I do like checkering though.

    Proof?

He has a stellar reputation on the other boards, so call me skeptical.

No, he has a "steller" reputation on one other board.

Page 3 and 4 here pretty much tell the story.

    --------------

Guy orders a new gun to a custom spec from Jerry Hammond (see post 29):

Gun arrives, owner says he shot 500 rounds through it and reports problems with the finish:

Slide is refinished by Baer and buyback of the pistol betwwen dealer and buyer agreed:

And then here is the same pistol listed up and sold as "factory new" by "Mr Integrity" himeself Jerry Hammond:

Oh and all of that was posted on the one board where Hammond enjoys golden boy status. Of course the thread there was deleted.

Gee, Imagine that, I saw this happen with a KTM engine on another board, the board the seller was highly thought, locked and deleted the whole thing, then they banned anyone who who asked any questions or brought it up.

:shakehead: You would think JH is the nicest guy ever if you looked at some of his posts. Selling a used 1911 as new? That's low.
