Just picked up an EG Mak locally today for $225.00. I own a Bulgarian Mak and thought it couldn't get any better, until now. The DA trigger on the EG is WAY better than the Bulg. It is light and as smooth as butter, almost as good as the P226 I used to own. Will shoot this baby soon, I hope it is as accurate as my Bulg :supergrin:

Oh, I wouldn't worry about it being less accurate than your Bulgie. I've got both a EG and Bulgie. I use the Bulgie as my shooter and the EG sleeps in the safe. I was also smart enough to get a good selection of spare mags while they were cheap!

    Enjoy atakawow! Enjoy.

Oh, and 225 was a good price.

    You got a great deal.
The Bulgarian is a good gun and the EG is even better.

You have fallen under the Makarov curse. You can't stop at just one.:)

The machining quality of the EG gun is also much better than the Bulgarian.

East German AKs were a lot better made than the rest of the commie world's AKs too. It's a teutonic thing, I guess.

I paid $340 for this EG Mak in June, 06. That was just a little high at the time but I had to have it.:)

I got my EG Mak ten or twelve years ago for $200, so I think $225 was a good deal for you. Enjoy!

    I wish they did.:)

That Mak belonged to a dealer at the Dallas gun show.
He said that was his private gun. He had it finished by a guy what does very good work (obviously). The gun turned out so nice that he never carried it or fired it (the picture doesn't do it justice).

I'm not much on safe queens but since I have 15 other Makarovs I doubt I'll ever fire it either.

A real coup, that deal on that pistol!!!

I think I need to contact a buddy of mine that has a minty EG Mak... Wonder if I could talk him out of it.

Aftermarket, I bet (assuming you have an actual Bulgarian Mak).

Does it also have a square trigger guard?

I understand they are civilian. Not many were imported I don't believe. I don't recall seeing another one after I bought this one.
