Figured you would be the right people to ask:

I'm shopping around for mag carriers for a 9mm P229 Enhanced Elite. The mags are, apparently, 15 rounds instead of the usual 13. My concern is that most kydex carriers might have trouble if the mag has slightly different dimensions.

Does anybody know for sure if these are maybe the same dimensions of P226 mags or any others for that matter? Or am I stuck getting something a little more generic until new models of carrier come out?

Part of the E2 changes involved using the same P229 frame for 9mm, .357 sig, and of course .40 s&w. Before, the 9mm P229 frame was designed to accept P228 magazines.

I could never figure out why they didn't just make the P226 series with a 4 inch barrel, and make it easier to manufacture.

If you order gear to fit the .40/.357 magazines you will be fine.

    FWIW,

This is my 229ST rig with a Comp-Tac holster and two twin Blade-Tech mag carriers. The carriers work fine with both 229 9mm 13 round mags and 226 9mm 20 round mags. The screws shown are tensioning screws.

    Awesome, thanks.

I guess I didn't think it all the way through. It wouldn't really make sense for the mouth of the magazine to be that different from any other Sig mag.
