I got to fondle a new Stainless Valor yesterday. It is definitely a sweet 1911. Now, I gotta figure out how to save $1450. :sigh:

They also had a used Nighthawk GRP for $1875. Looks like less than 100rds through it.

Tough choice, for a few hundred more you can also start getting into a Baer, or Brown 1911.

The decisions always get harder when you get into the higher price ranges. There are so many nice guns and so many options to pick from.
    It is fun though.

And therein lies my dilema. :sigh:

They're getting close to pricing themselves out of business.

I was facing the same dilemma as of late, and I'm pretty much set on a LB TRS for about $300 more than the Valor is going to cost. Just need my CDP to sell.......

    Just my $0.02

Get the Valor ... I sold my Nighthawk Talon and feel my 09 Valor is just as good a pistol for much less money.
I use it for carry and have 1000 rounds Zero problems. I got a SS Valor for my Wife but she has problems with 45"s...
I was going to sell it but it is such a good shooting pistol I will use it for range and a back up to my 09 Valor.

If I could have found one when I was looking I would have bought a Valor.
I found a killer deal on a "little old lady used" Kobra Carry.

That sounds like a sweet deal on the NightHawk!

The GRP is a great 1911, as is the Valor.

Tough choice, but I'd probably go with the Nighthawk.

Yep, if I had the money, I would have taken the Nighthawk.

I also really like the Baer TRS.

I just picked up a SS Valor and I am extremely happy with it. I shot this group with it on St. Paddy's Day. [IMG]

It digests my Semi-Wadcutters easily. I have been tweaking the rear sight trying to move my group to the right. After yesterday I now think I have it where I need it.

One thing I am not crazy about is the point-of-aim relative to the point-of-impact. I prefer a 6-o'clock hold. With this pistol a 6-o'clock hold results in about 4" low at 25 yards and 8" low at 50 yards. However if I cover the target, basically line up the tops of the sights and put the white dot on the bulls-eye, it's right on. It has Heinie Ledge sights. I measured the front sight, it is .175" tall. For my tastes a shorter front sight would be preferable.

I purchased the Valor as a backup for the Ed Brown I have on order. It will be interesting to see which one becomes my favorite. I'm 7 weeks into the wait for the EB.

It shouldn't be much longer. Browns are normally delivered within 10 weeks.

    That would be excellent.

I sent my order in with full payment. When I asked if I could pay in full up front, EB of course said "yes" and "it would speed up the process". Speed it up since there would be no halt in production while they waited for the balance.

I finally got to shoot my New Valor today. It made me into a Dan Wesson believer right of the bat. My previous experiences shooting was a short time with a Kimber Raptor, which shot very nicely. This Valor tops the cake. I have never shot so accurately with a handgun before. This may becoeme a seriuos problem. I like this 1911 so much now I'm thinking about what 1911 to get next.

I say if you have the Money go for the SRP, you can get a TRS later if you wish. I am looking forward to my SRP I think they are awesome pistols on a higher level than the TRS

I never ordered a Brown directly like that.

I went through my dealer and just paid at the end. I got my Classic Custom, which is their top model, in nine weeks.
