Mr. Chernovsky, (who fought in Afghanistan, back in the day) told me the other day, when he saw my AR's, that he prefers the AK over the M16.

I showed him a pic of my Saiga S-308, and told him that the AK is a fine weapon, but it's much better when it's chambered to fire a real rifle cartridge.

How is that Saiga working out for you anyway?

Nice potential for an inexpensive .308 platform there if it's accurate enough.

It's more accurate than I am, but even with the Williams peep sight, it's not nearly as easy to shoot as the AR, Garand, or FAL, which are also more accurate than I.

If they made a proper aperture that could somehow mount on the rear of the receiver without moving, I'd love it. As it stands, a scout optic might do the trick, but I don't like depending on glass or electronics for shooting.

Yeah, only have my hunting rifles have glass.

Now you reminded me that I need a Garand - the first one I ever handled/shot was like a laser beam at 100 yards with old military ball.
