Call me a silly "CAGER" but WTF would you spend $60k on a bike?

Looks like this ****** got what he had coming to him. Every motor head I know always said, start out with something cheap and easy and work your way up. It looks like the schmucks in this bike shop loaded the newbie up with "everything he needed", put him on a $60k bike and stepped back a few feet.

Might as well toss some cans of butane into that camp fire, eh?

could the rider have been a female? The rider looked very small with short arms and legs.

could the rider have been young?

Probably stalled the bike when they let out the clutch.

Could be a female but I doubt it. It looks like it took place in Japan, so that may explain the svelt look of the rider. And it does look like the rider stalled out and dropped the bike.

As far as why spending $60K on a bike...why not if you have the money? The Honda oval piston NR750 costed $60K PLUS and that was back in late 1980s early 1990s. The various choppers cost upward of $100K.

Besides, I'd rather spend $60K on a Desmosedici than the same amount on a Corvette, Porsche, BMW, whatever.

    But anyhewwww...

I am now thinking that maybe this rider isn't the owner of this bike. You can't simply just buy this bike. Ducati set it up like Ferrari usually does for their supercars, where preference was given to owners of certain vehicles. In this case preference was given to owners of 999R and I don't ever see any rich newbie buying a 999R.

    The bottom line is...poor bike.

PS I am an idiot. I think that's the Honda NR750 and not a Desmosedici.

And thats why you stay off the front brake at low speeds. have the wheel turned a little, hit the front brake and down you go!

    +1

    I so no Ducati here.

I have seen the one of the guy dumping his brand new 749 in the parking lot in the same fasion. The Honda is worth a LOT more than the Duc though, if for nothing else than for it is a piece of motorcycling history (oval pistons).

If you nail the front brake sure, but lightly applying it does not hurt anything if you have the sightest clue as to what you are doing (this person didn't).

Another possiblity is the engine stalled for some reason and locked the rear wheel up.

Yeah, I didn't think the new Duc was available yet.

    Either way that was ridiculous!

thats the worst video i've ever seen. why show a full minute of the bike just sitting there, and then not even capture the fall?

    sucks about the bike though.
