I'm in the market for another .308. I already have a 21" DSA standard FAL and I'm considering a second. Of course I have to consider an AR type and also an M1A varient, however part of me thinks I should stick with what I know and what I have. At this point reliability is more important to me than accuracy at distance, so again I'm pointed to the FAL. This is my opionion mind you.

Having said that, what is accuracy like between these two barrel lengths from a FAL. For comparison, my 21" will hold about 2 moa until it heats up and then creeps up towards 4 moa.

I put this here cause I like MBR and its been a snooze lately.

I would vote 16.25". I have one and love it. The accuracy on a good day hovers around or slightly above 2 MOA. The only real thing you loose because of the barrel length is bullet velocity.

How loud is the 16.25" compared to 18", I wonder?

It's gonna be loud. But, any .308 is gonna be loud. I would go 18" and para folder so you can have a 50.63 pattern gun. I think the 18" para's, and even the 21" para's are just awesome. I have a 21" para and just love it. Great guns for sure.
