I believe it is a liqueur derived from Scotch. I thought it tasted like what I would expect if I drank a melted tire.
Good for making B-52s, that's about all.
It is a good "Sipping" drink served on the rocks (ice) with a squeeze of fresh lime wedge. Really good with a great cigar!
I like it in small quantities, but it is far from my first choice. Good to have some on hand though.
I like it, but if I drink too much of it I get vicious heartburn for some reason...
It gives me gas.
Come to think of it, just about everything gives me gas.
Take a manhattan glass and run a lemon twist around the rim. Then build a scotch on the rocks. Add a float of Drambuie and enjoy. It's called a Rusty Nail. I've even had them mixed an ounce and a half of scotch to an ounce and a half of Drambuie. That will definitely make the world look funny.
Fill a large water glass with hot water. Pour about an ounce of Drambuie into a shifter. Balance the bell of the snifter at about 45-degrees atop the hot water. The heat will make the Drambuie climb up the sides of the snifter.
That's the way the serve it in fine restaurants.
