    I shot the one at a match on Halloween and really liked it. This particular one had the rail on it but they are offered without the rail. Bud's offers the one without the rail for $1160. I don't own a 1911 and really want one. I was just wondering what you guys thought about them.

    Yep.

    I just called them the other week. The non-railed model is in stock. They cost $50 more than the railed one for whatever reason.

    I plan on getting a non-railed version next year.

    Oops! Sorry about not doing the search earlier. I stand corrected and must remember that 'search is my friend'.

    Someone asked about a gun...a 1911 at that & a pic of it on bac's carpet didn't appear. The apocalypse is near.

    No need to apologize. Just posted that link because there's some good info on the Doublestar in there and it's a recent post. Hell, if Brian likes it enough to buy one...that should be all the endorsement you need. :rofl:

    Two guys that are always at our local IDPA matches had doublestar's, they stated they had problems with them, and the following month they were both shooting STI's, Trojans most likely but i cant really remember

    They're not exactly considered as an upper tier AR mfgr, dont know why one would pay that much for one of their 1911's?

    :rofl::rofl:

    I would have had one a long while back, but it was available without a rail until recently. :)
