I picked up a new 26 Gen 3 yesterday, and noticed when I field stripped it that it has a dot pattern on the underside of the barrel, and a number on the frame, that is not the serial number. What are these, and are they related to each other? This is my second Glock, but my first one was bought in 2003, or 2004, and did not have these things.

Individual serial numbers required by some countries. You'll find corresponding dot matrix codes under the trigger mechanism housing for the frame and under the slide cover plate for the slide. Each serial number is independent of the others.

Thanks for the info. This gun was manufactured 2 years ago, are there any differences between Glocks manufactured then and now?

That's a loaded question if I ever read one! I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me can answer that for you.
