    Holy cow....

I slowed it down and looked... the guy was just breaking a window and explosives on the bus went off further to the rear of the bus... but man, they guy with the stick took a big hit!

They always told us that sweat during training meant less blood during battle, but that is a bit much!

That bus was TOASTED!!!! and the ammo was not blanks. The camera men and the viewing public were seriously at the mercy of good finger control under stress.......

What the **** are you talking about? Yes, they were firing blanks. Otherwise, the BFA's on the end of the rifles would have been ruined pretty quick, and the bus would have been shot full of holes before the bang-nuke went off.

Where the hell did you come up with that they were firing live ammo?

If the cops would have been allowed to handle hippies in VW microbuses like this in 1966, we'd be in much better shape today.

I like you. Therefore, I'm giving you 24 hours to copyright the term "bang-nuke" before I steal it.

BTW, translation of the narrative: "Think you used enough gunpowder there, Pavel?"

A PKM being fired into the engine block tends to be more effective than spike strips.

    Russians tend towards efficiency.

And I wonder how many of the children on this forum can tell you exactly which movie your line came from....? Great line by the way, and a great classic movie.

That's funny, but so true... The basic principal of negation is that you must have something the other wants, or deems valuable.

The Russian's philosophy of negotiation is simple and, while crude, effective.... If you take hostages, they don't really want them, or deem them valuable. They don't seem to have any issue killing you AND them quickly. That removes any semblance of value from hostage taking.

The hostage takers don't get protracted press coverage from long stand-offs while negotiations occur, and in the end they don't even get the credit for killing hostages, because the Russians are more than happy to just wipe everyone out if it comes to that.

It actually works for them, because there is nothing to gain from taking hostages in Russia. One might as well blow themselves up in a crowd, because that is pretty much all you will get out of it anyway. This doesn't bode well for the vast majority of Russian criminals, because they don't tend to be suicidal.
