Well my single stack days are over...early this year I picked up a XDS 3.3 and a 4.0 . I thought they would be my carry guns...well ended up selling them both and got a second 19 for my edc....I just can't do a smaller gun ....I shoot IDPA with a 17 or 19 depending on which class I decided to shoot....I would shoot the xds guns at the tactile night at the local range. I just shoot faster and better with my glocks....the smaller guns get lost in my hands , last shot hold open failed most of the time because my thumb was all over the release lever....and a fast mag change on the xds was not gonna happen....xds is a great gun ....but not for me.... i sold a gen 3 26 to help pay for the xds's... which I will now replace... I guess I'm just a glock guy....the new 19 will be my edc....I hope to replace the 26 this fall...smaller may be easier to carry ...but at the moment of truth in a crowded resteraunt smaller isn't always better....stay safe keith
    ..

It just depends on what your specific objectives are. Some people are interested in carrying guns, and some are interested in shooting them.

I really like my 26 for CC it's not much bigger than my 43. Throw a 19 or 17 mag in your back pocket..... your ready to rock and roll. Besides that the 26 just shoots good.

Hey, some folks like compact cars and can drive them well, and others like large cars, or even pickups, and can drive them well.

    Suit yourself.

Learning to recognize your handling, manipulation and shooting limitations with different handguns while running them for a IDPA course is far and away more "practical testing" of a potential CCW handgun than most average gun owners would ever experience.

Only single stacks I have a use for are 1911s. My smallest useful is a Kimber Ultra.

Most small single stacks are simply too small for my hands and offer very little concealment advantage to a Glock 26, plus I shoot the 26 and bigger, better.

    So I agree.

I bought a Glock 36 years ago and sold it, shot a friend’s 43 as I was considering buying one, pass, and just ended up with another 19.

I have an XDs. It’s my sometimes carry. My 19 is my almost always carry. And a j frame or k frame is my staying home gun

For me and my hand, as you can see with the open hand and the grip, the perfect handle for me is a G26 with a 15 round mag.
*No (Glock) hump at the bottom of the grip hit the flashy heel of my hand. ( see red arrow )
    *15+1 capacity
    * no appreciable decrease in accuracy vs. the G19 and most of the research I’ve seen shows only about 40 ft./s on average decreased velocity.
    * when you’re carrying all day every day, 8.9% weight reduction adds up
    * for me ( and it’s evident that many people who have this holster complain about this and have not discovered this trick ) urban Carry G2 works great if I get the Glock 19 size and then use the above Glock 26 combination. It is pants sensitive as well, but works with all my pants, and takes shirts totally out of the equation tucked in or untucked. It’s the only holster I can wear every day all day regardless of what I’m doing and have done that for close to the last two years. Winter or summer.

    Just a thought.

I've come to find that I don't like, nor will I carry a gun that I can't get a full three finger grip on. My P365, I only carry the 12-round extended mags. My G26, I use the +2 OEM base plates on my carry mag with a larger mag for back up. All the rest of my carry guns are compact sized guns. No pinky dangling for me.

Have you tried the 12 round magpul for your 26? I find it both more comfortable in the hand and more concealable than the OEM +2. Not that a 26 with a +2 is at all difficult to conceal for me.

I had a shield 9mm that I sold because it does nothing for me that my GLOCK 26 doesn't already do BETTER!
The 26 conceals easier(shorter grip)under a t shirt, holds more bullets, and shoots better.

The +2 is not an option here in MA.....10 round mags or nothing. Thats why the Glock 26/27/33 are great options where you are limited to 10 rounds, you get 10 in a small concealable package.

Oh no, now you done did it. That one member on here will show up and internet scream at you about how craptastic Magpul mags are and you are a real idiot if you use them for "EDC" because you are for sure a noob who has no value for your life.

BTW, I only use Magpul 12 rounders in my G26 Gen.5 for carry, range, sitting in the drawer or sitting next to the bed while I bang the ol' lady.
