No-one you see, is smarter than he ...
I've had the pleasure of working with dolphins. They never cease to amaze me.
Cool vid! Thanks!~
Took these last Jan. here in the coastal SC area. They were just playing in the surf.
Actually I think that the Dolphins did pretty poorly this season....
No amazement here
Dragline, I think I'm going to have to keep my SLR on the boat with me this year when I'm down at the coast. I've seen way too much cool stuff out there, and my stupid point 'n shoot never turns on in time, or if it's on, I, of course, get too much lag-time.
I hate to have the beast hanging around my neck, but during some drinkin' downtime, it would be cool to see what I can capture.
BTW -- great pics (as always).
Thanks for the kind words!
But...believe it or not, those dolphin pics were taken with a Canon A630 point n shoot that only has a 4x zoom. They were in the surf off Huntington Beach and were that close. I was able to pre focus on the general area they were playing in and luckily for me they stuck around for a good 10 mins. or so before heading off. It still did require a heavy crop to get those pics to look like that.
I do have a DSLR and used it yesterday over at Huntington where I finally managed to get a halfway decent shot of a Kingfisher. Those little suckers are so quick and never seem to ever be close enough.
Hmm...maybe I should look at a Canon and stray away from my Cybershot.
The DSLR is a "lowly" Nikon D40, but I'm still learning, and it does the job quite well with 2 lenses.
(Again, cool pic!)
Buy yourself an old Nikon D70S with a cheap kit lens and take that with you...if it gets lost/wet/damaged who cares...
Since it warmed up a bit the gators were out yesterday too.
(sorry, not trying to hijack your thread with animal pics, I just know you like to see them)
