I had to put my Bulldog BJ down today.

Took my buddy in for blood work on Tuesday, made the decision to put him down this morning.

Can't talk about him just now, but here's some pics from today before I took him to his favourite place (the Vet's) for the last time.

The house is so very quiet tonight....

    Tommy,

My condolensces on the loss of your friend BJ. He looked like a wonderful pup and I'm sure he was a good friend to you. Today, you proved what a good friend you were to him. You went with him on that final journey. It's not easy to let them go even when you know that's what's best for them. You two will meet again on the other side.

    Mark

I'm sorry for your loss. He sure looks like a nice dog. I'm sure he lived a nice life with people that cared so much for him. It is so difficult to put them down but I'm sure you spared him much discomfort in doing so.

I very sorry for your loss. It's a very sad fact that we are destined to outlive our furry companions who add so much to our lives.

I've had to do this; it's an awful decision to have to make, but the greatest gift you can give your loyal dog: a painless end, when he might be suffering.

    So sorry, brother!

It's a tough decision, but often it is the right one.

I was there myself in January of 2005 with an 18-month-old puppy that developed Leukemia.

Hang in there, we're with you in your grief.

Sorry Tommy. I know how it feels to lose your dog/best friend. When my beagle hound had to be put down I was too emotionally wrecked to go to work.

I know what it's like Tommy21. I put my Basset down a few years back and my wife and I cried all day long.

I now have a Lab that I'm more attached to than what I was to my Basset. I'm sure I will be a basket case when he goes.

    Best wishes. :)
