Its not what you shoot. Its HOW you shoot it.

If the dog was DRT none of this would have happened.

Well, one of their other articles has the same hard-hitting, thoughtful journalism: "Let commuters adapt to Northway limitations" http://poststar.com/news/opinion/co...cle_8dd8ffea-692b-11e1-8c88-0019bb2963f4.html . The writer advocates relieving highway congestion by not building bigger roads, as this would lead to more travel. I guess in the fight between a good economy supported by good infrastructure and the ideals of environmentalism, the latter wins.

    "pellet"?

It just sounds funny hearing "slug" and ".22 rifle" in same sentence.

Going from your summary, I would say he's righ. BTW, it is a well known phenomenon, the fancy name escapes me.

Of course he's right that's what would happen. My point is that this is a good thing.

Same here. I have no problem with deer, my neighbor's dogs, my other neighbor's cows, etc. wandering over for a friendly visit. But if any animal threatens me, my wife, or her chickens, I'll shoot it in a heartbeat.

"Slug" has been used as a slang term for a bullet for as long as I can remember.

It's Massachusetts. Simply remember the word "mess" when you read Massachusetts and everything else will make perfect sense.
