Has anyone noticed that Glock is probably the most used reference to firearms by obnoxious wanna be tough guy rappers? I have and it really bothers me, cant they be more realistic and talk about the POS pawnshop whatever they most likely have.

In a way, rappers mentioning Glock should be a compliment to you. Hear me out. Much of rap and hip hop seems to be boasting about having the nicest car, or drinking the nicest champagne or having the hottest girl, etc etc. Basically having the best of anything and everything. Therefore, when rappers mention Glock by name, they are identifying the brand as the best firearm. So congrats, you are the owner of the Bentley of the gunworld...according to Hip Hop.

Just trying to shine a different perspective.

Not to mention if they said "I pulled out my 1911 to bust a cap" the average person probably wouldn't know what the **** they were talking about.

Otherwise, I also agree with the above statement. :wavey:

I haven't listened to enough rappers to be able to detect a pattern.

You have a point about it being a boast of a high end firearm, but to me it just seems like it makes the name popular in the worst way. Although I guess Sig Sauer doesn't rhyme with a whole lot.

Ya it bothers the hell out of me too. The only reason rappers like glocks is because glock can rhyme with a lot of words. "I got a glock on da block while my pants are hangin down past my c**k" See? It rhymes, lol

    Glock -

Single syllable, not difficult to spell. I can understand why rappers chose it for their songs. Do we really want to hear a rapper with a lisp try and say "Smith and Wesson?"
