Or some other mental defect? He aligns himself with Demopublicans McCain and Graham but hires a neo-con as foreign policy adviser. He is either covering all his bases or else a political opportunist who would do anything to advance his career.

It's more of matter of his trying to advance his ethnic group, something all ethnic groups do--except for one.

I'll go with mental illness. There's the mistaken impression that despite all evidence to the contrary, the McCain formula is a winning strategy.

Just another day in the life of a political opportunist with a moderate political philosophy. Pick whichever side helps you out at the moment. IOW, Romney part 2.

He's looking for a niche. At this rate, I'm hoping he fades into obscurity.

He probably won't. The GOP honchos are desperate to prove they'rer not racists so they want a minority, ANY minority, Rubio, Herman Cain, Nikki Haley, etc.

Well, to be honest, I see much more racism from the left. But racist liberals are allowed, even applauded. Ask Barry's Minister.

    Don't count out Ted Cruz.

Probably not. There are so many gun owning centrists and libertarians, and it's amazing how many have so much advice for a party they have no intentions for voting for.

Kind of funny when you think about it.

As an unrelated side note, did you notice that Cruz was one of only three Senators that voted against Kerry's confirmation? If the GOP feels it must appeal to identity politics voters (and the reality is that it probably has to in some form), I'd take Cruz long before I'd give Rubio the time of day.

Uhhh...your comment was on JB's list too.

It's more funny that some are urging the GOP to say the course. . .even after this last election. If the GOP took the advice of centrists and libertarians, why, they might have enough votes to win an election.

Can you find anyone that thinks another McCain or Romney should be nominated the next time around. On GT, I'm betting the total census of those guys is VERY low.

Dang, I missed that, thanks. Guess he don't know me very well. I thought just about everyone knew I voted against Romney in the primary and against Barry in the general election. For Gingrich then Romney.

Looks like the only (hopeful still) good guy I got to vote for and be happy about (so far) was Ted Cruz in the primary and general election. Other than that, in all other races that included a lot of judges, if there was a competing Dem, I voted Rep. If not, I voted libertarian. IIRC, I voted pretty close to even by number for R and Libertarians.

Rubio is succumbing to the same tendencies of every young up and comming politician who suddenly finds themselves in the limelight - they attempt to appeal the the largest number of people in order to build their base. In today's political world, principles take a back seat, even to this seemingly principled individual. He's young, good looking, Hispanic and charismatic - who needs principles?

I wouldn't go that far. I'm hoping for someone else, but between him, Hillary, Biden, Kerry etc, Ill be voting for him.
