Does anyone here adjust their insurance coverage depending on the season?

Do you change your withholdings throughout the year too? Bug HR for a new W-4 a few times per year?

We had a few in our office that changed theirs regularly when they needed Botox or something. Made me crazy. We had to put an end to that crap.

Your insurance company increases over $2500 a year for 3 years? Find new insurance.

The only thing I do is type of coverage. Same limits for liability. But 96, 99...basic liability. I cause damage, I pay for repairs. My newer car, truck (and one that might have others drive) full coverage with deductible. Also so if I rent I never have to buy their overpriced insurance. My policy rentals at highest coverage.

I live in the country. I have a 1996 F150 4x4 and add full coverage on it through October to March. My only reason that truck gets used more during those months with me deer hunting, hauling wood and there is a lot of deer hit during the rut and throughout deer season.

Figure the age of the truck wont take much for them to total it out and I'll get a little cash back.

No, they're actually better drivers than the Floridians.

It used to save me a few hundred bucks to put the Jeep (no top) in "storage" and drop the bikes for the winter. It was as easy as two phone calls so why not? I don't bother any more because the savings is now negligible.

Some people have to. Be thankful you're not in that position.

Yes some people have to, for a lot of people its self inflicted.

In the 'retired' season it doesn't matter. Having 6 polices (vehicle) is another story...

My Camry with 212k miles wont get me much from insurance if I crash. If I smoke a deer with it (most likely scenario in my area), I'll be cutting my losses.

The other car that's actually worth something has full coverage and a moderate deductible that I'm comfortable with. I dont change it seasonally.

As a side note I just installed a dash cam in the nicer car to hopefully tip the scales in my favor if someone crashes into me. If it holds up well I'll order one for the Camry too.

A few hundred bucks isn’t worth it, imo. I’d rather have the peace of mind.

Tell your agent. You may get a small discount for having the camera.
