Well a while pack the featured a guy making custom 1911's called the dragon or something like that. It had a different bushing setup so I just wanted to know if anybody new the name cause i cant remember and wanted to do some research. I think he used to work at Night Hawk Customs maybe? thanks

That doesn't jog my memory. I DVR every week but that doesn't sound familiar. Maybe if you can pick the show out of the lineup above.

Same here. Are there any other details you recall about this smith? Here is what I could find:

Hell I just cant remember. It wasnt just an add on comp though it was a completly new set up that I had never seen. I think it was on shooting usa but Im not sure. I also think he and his dad both worked for Night Hawk customs until he went out on his own. Thats all I can remember

Is this the pistol you're thinking of?

If so, it's the LST Gaboon. Made by Dustin Bonar at Lightning Strike Technologies. His dad, Joe Bonar worked at Novak's for eons.

I would have been completely useless. I definitely missed that episode.
    Looks cool though.

Coincidentally, there's also a review of it in the March/April American Handgunner.

Love the Gaboon. That kid is going to be one of the elite top 1911 makers someday.

I know this is an older Thread, I just joined this forum. I live just a few miles from the L.S.T Shop. I recently ordered the 5" Gaboon 1911. Dustin Bonar is a well know pistolsmith in the gun world. He worked at Novaks for several years under the guidance and direction of his father, the late Joe Bonar who was considered the best of the best when it came to pistolsmiths. The turn around time on my Gaboon is about 8 weeks. I will keep you all posted on the build and post pics when I get it home.

Nice forum and I look forward to browsing the site

That is correct. I beleive Dustin actually worked at Novak's for awhile too, IIRC.
