We've had threads about stuff we collect. How about your kids?

My oldest son (11) is a huge Godzilla fan, he's been collecting Godzilla stuff for several years. These are
some of the movies in his collection...

He also has the original Japanese movie 'Gojira' from 1954 (which is in Japanese with English subtitles,
no English sound track) and the later Americanized version with Raymond Burr, but they're not in that photo.

And there's the Godzilla video game (we're also getting the newer one for the Wii soon)...

And the figures, which stand 6"-8" tall and have moveable body parts...

The figures he has so far are Godzilla 1954, Godzilla 1968, Godzilla 1990s, Godzilla 2000, Mecha-Godzilla,
Gammera, Space Godzilla, Gigan, Gigan 2004, Rodan, King Ghidora, Mecha-King Ghidora, Destroyah, Hedorah,
Mothra, and Jet Jaguar. There are still a lot more figures and movies to acquire; it's a work in progress.

What do your kids collect? Post pictures of their collections if you have any.

I have always loved Godzilla movies even the lame ones. There a few of the recent ones that I have not seen yet.

My kids collect crap. No, my kids do not have any real collections yet. My son who is 4 "collects" rocks and my daughter collects nothing. Your son's collection is cool, how did he get into Godzilla?

I think he keeps a vile of the tears I cry as he destroys my house piece by piece, and I know he's stuffing his animals with my falling out hair.

Probably around 5-6 years ago, I acquired the Americanized version (with Raymond Burr) of the original Japanese movie Gojira. He watched it with me and immediately became obsessed with Godzilla, and it was all downhill from there. We started collecting the movies, and later we found the figures and started collecting them. You can see pictures of all the toy figures here. I've found some of the newer ones in stores, but the older ones I get on ebay.

A related passion of his is dinosaurs: he wants to be a paleontologist. Maybe he gets it from me, I have a fascination with paleoanthropology. :dunno:

    He also loves King Kong.

My oldest daughter lives alone in a 2-br apartment. One of the bedrooms is devoted to her collection of Texas Rangers baseball memorabilia.

    When they were younger... Lego.

My older boy is pushing 30. He collects tools... like his dad does and his grandad did.

My younger boy (now 26) collects... dust.

Seriously... he's a good dad, works hard at his job, but other than that is pretty much a couch potato.

The packaging for the toys is gone. Most of the ones I get on ebay don't have the packaging. He'd be an old man before they're worth anything anyway.

Besides, it's for his enjoyment now. Watching my son have fun is the investment. Memories are the payoff.

Anyone else? I'm sure other peoples' kids collect stuff.
