Fixed it for you. Someone wrote a whole bunch of nonsense in the middle of two correct statements.
After all the things you’ve put your mouth on in bed, are you really going to try and draw the line at a dog licking his own butt as gross?
No. (Don't have any.) But the cats do. And when I was a kid and had a dog he slept in the bed. The critters are family as far as I'm concerned.
For the longest, yes, especially the one I have had longer. My girl did break them of the habit though. She doesn't like the hair or smell on the bed. It does make sense, because once they stopped, I realize the difference. If I forget to close the bedroom doors (i keep them closed due to being carpeted, again, the smell really sets in) they will sleep up there while I'm home but they scoot out quick fast and in a hurry when I get into bed now.
Couch is a lost cause and my compromise, but I brush all the hair off each morning before work, and sleep the whole living room area / kitchen probably twice a day. between the sandy soil and dogs that shed a ton, you need to.
My cat sleeps on the bed...I mean on us. It grosses me out to have animals on the bed with the hair, dirt, cat litter, pee, poo, drool/drool covered chew toys, parasites, etc that they bring. We keep two thin blankets on top in an attempt to shield the comforter and sheets below. I’m always picking cat litter off of the blankets, and we wash and shake out the blankets regularly.
My two indoor type dogs - a 5.5 lbs Yorkie and 20 lbs poodle mix, live outside, but would die to sleep with us. Too bad because we like a clean bed.
The Kraut keeps trying to get on. We boot him while he's still sleeping and he falls like a lump.
The other one is to dumb to realize what a bed is for. He got blasted by a skunk the other day. I despise skunks.
No dogs but we have 4 cats.
At least 2, sometimes all 4 are on the bed.
We recently upgraded to a king size to help out but they still lay on or against us. Crazy critters.
Yea my chi sleeps under the covers at night. Plus does pretty much anything else he wants.
Jake the Wonder Dog is a 10 pound Toy Fox Terrier. The boy sheds 12 months out of the year, and my allergies won't stand for dog hair in my bed. He has a bed on the floor near the head of my bed and I cover him up with a blanket at Nighty Night time.
Jake is a very clean dog who grooms himself like a cat. I've never seen him lick any personal parts. We give him medicine to attack any fleas or ticks and I've even seen hitch hiker fleas get on him and bail off immediately! Dogs don't need to have fleas!
Security wise, I always leave a small night light on so Jake can check things out. Jake is always on patrol and if anyone breaks in or messes with the vehicles, he would alert long & loud! Once awakened, I am the bad dog to fear in this house!
The boys have their own bedroom with queen size bed.
Indoor type dogs live outside??
Abby the Wondermutt is a great snuggle buddy.
Sad but true. Out of all of the dogs I’ve had since I was a kid, I could never house train my Yorkie. Because of that, my poodle mix stays outside with her.
I sometimes bring them inside and put them in a small pen, but mostly I’m spending time with them outside.
Every night and before someone could set off the alarm I get a pre warning when the dog jumps up and runs off barking. Best motion detector ever. I know exactly where the threat is coming from
Our dogs are not allowed on any furniture
No!!!! I actually like to get some sleep...
It's more like they allow us to share their bed....
My dogs now as I read through this awesome thread.....can’t sleep without them.
