Having reached a point where there are very few guns that I really want, I realized that over time I've purchased nearly all of the firearms I really wanted as a kid/young man. In fact, with the exception of a couple carry guns and hunting rifles that were chosen for practical reasons, the main theme of my small collection is one of guns I used to daydream about. I wanted a rifle like the Colt Commando my father had in Vietnam - Didn't get the real thing (select fire, SBR), but found an AR-15 of similar style I wanted a 1911 like the guys in the hard boiled detective novels had - Bought a simple 1911A1 style Colt. A fighting revolver, like Bill Jordan wrote about in his books and the old gun magazines my grandpa kept - Found a nice, old Model 19 on Gunbroker. There are several more along the same lines. Anybody else spend their dough buying the guns they used to draw in their notebooks?
