My wife is a CNA at the Senior Nursing Unit of our hospital here, so yes, she is considered essential. So far there have been several Chinese Virus scares with the residents, but no one has tested positive. Or so the administration says.

Me, too. I would rather work. The kids are savages, and every time they come to the house it is as if a horde of locusts had descended upon the pantry. It's locked up now.

Yep, essential. Company gave us a letter, but I would be shocked if I where actually stopped to “show me your papers!”

Solo attorney here. CT says I'm "essential." Guess I should write myself a letter.

Not much change for me though. I go to my office once or twice a week, instead of three or four times. Litigation matters perk along...just phone calls, e-mails and papers back & forth. All my proceedings in court on hold; many deadlines extended.

Client meetings on hold mostly. Replaced with phone calls.

    Bills will go out.

Not so sure about checks coming in.

My wife is a psychiatric nurse. Talk about no rest for the weary. She's busy. And she's going to get a lot busier.

That's why these lock downs and essential employee orders are a joke. Everyone is deemed essential.
I was given travel papers a couple of weeks ago but I deal with interstate and international pipelines and the materials we push through them.

Sounds like you could be either working for the same company I do or one of the competitors. Is your company based in Alabama?

I write firmware so I can work from home. I was more productive at the office but WFH is going pretty well. Manufacturing is still open but everyone that can is WFH.

I work at a government facility and am staying home. Wife is a nurse and working but she's got called off several times since there is no elective surgery's right now. I'm 1500 miles away from home in a camper. I want to go home so bad but know it's safer all the way around staying here.

Can't work from home, field service. Monday last week we were told we're essential. This past Friday they cut us to 21 hours a week. Guess we're not THAT essential. When customers (who really are essential) start screaming some time later this coming week, I should be back to 40... if not more.

Collision Center at a large Toyota dealership, deemed essential! I guess I was somewhat shocked when told we’d be open? Great, we’re busy!

Yes, we were given letters a week and half ago.

I guess all I will ad to that is, fortunate to still be working and earning a paycheck but the conditions are risky for us.

Nope, nothing essential about my job.

Except to me, my kids, and my ex.

My employer is essential and I am essential but the entire company is work from home right now. I am backend IT so I am responsible for keeping the services running to include our vpn that allows the entire company to work. If something in the office breaks I would have to go in and fix it. We have 12 offices around the globe so I would have to try and find someone to go in another office if required to get something back.

    Company is a defense contractor.

I guess since I help keep the lights on for everyone else. Linemen can't work from home, as much as I wish I could sometimes.

My company is on the bottom of the non essential list but I’m considered essential to our business so they are paying me full pay for a couple more weeks then I go to basically being on call and paid 1/2 time or 20 hours a week. I will go in a few times a week to walk through a whole bunch of buildings to make sure everything is ok. Could be worse.
