Do you have a dedicated commuter car and a "fun" car?

This seems like you dont believe him.

The cars actually look they are in a valet lot to me. The striped lines for parking spaces seem a little odd for where someone parks their private vehicles.

When you have older paid off vehicles it's pretty cheap.

My daily driver is my work car: 2014.5 Toyota Camry Hybrid that was an upgrade from a 2009 Crown Vic. Take- home G- rides rule. Keeps the miles off my toy car: 2002 Camaro SS. The Camaro is strictly a toy. I also have a 2001 Silverado that I use as my around- town off- duty beater instead of the Camaro.

Sooner rather than later I'll retire from government work and have to buy my own gas to get to work. I've been so impressed with my new Camry Hybrid as a commuter car that I'll probably look to buy one myself when the time comes.

I'd say you're dedicated to the Mercedes marque; that G55 G Class SUV starts at $115,000.

Sometimes, it is just the brand of the day for folks.

My old RS6 was $89,000 and my old Cayenne Turbo S was $135,000.

My new Subaru was $31,000

We don't do it because it's cost effective. We do it because we enjoy them. Everybody has to have a hobby and something to spend money on for enjoyment. This is what we choose.

I am the only household member. Work is 47 miles one way which I do about 2 maybe 3 times a week.

From about early April to late November I drive a 2006 Mazda MX5. I then garage it for the winter. All year round I drive a 2003 Nissan Xterra, I head up into the great white north for work(snow belt) and the 4wd comes in handy at times, plus I use it to haul stuff about the rest of the year that will not fit in the Mazda.

    I'm overstocked right now.

This is Mrs. GVFlyer's daily driver.

My daily driver is the VW Golf TDI on the right in this photo. Hardly seems equitable.

This is my BMW M3 DCT ZCP coupe.

    My Honda S2000.

...and my Harley Dyna Super Glide Custom.

This one is for sale. Anyone need a 2013 BMW M3 convertible?

For "car folk" it is. And for us any costs incurred are just part of the hobby.

This. I have a 2002 and 2003. I live alone and paid cash for both. Totally worth it. Both give completely different feels. Couldn't imagine only having one.
