Yeah, I know. Not a manly topic, but thinking about friends and relatives i have known through the years, I started to think of a dear relative that I had never said I love you to, and now never will be able to. I regret that, but its not my style. I guess I was more service oriented in always being there and helping, and that love was just understood. I now make a point to always tell my kids I do.

Do you tell close people you love them, or are you more "service" oriented?

The only person I say "love you" to, is my 9 year old son. Other than that, just my ex-wife, no one else in my life. (not anymore to her, but at the time, lol)

I always say I love you. My wife and I and our kids say it several times a day. When I talk to my family on the phone , brothers sister, nieces nephews, grandparents etc. I always say I love you. It's not something they get tired of hearing!

Depends on who I talk to.

My family knows I love them, we don't have to say it, and we have our own ways of saying it.

My little bro is SF, and a hard little bastard, so I tell him to keep his head down.

My old man is a grumpy grouch old SOB, so I'll usualy part with a little jab about his age, or he'll comment about "young punk" or whipper snapper.

Mom I usually tell I love her.

Girls, if I love them, I'll tell em as much. If I don't, I'm not going to lie about my feelings.

I tell my wife that I love (and to drive safely) every morning before she leaves, because I may not ever see her alive again. The last thing I want to do is to remember the last thing said to my wife being a grunt (half awake morning talk) or criticism. You start each day having no idea where you will end up.

I tell the people I love how I feel and don't feel the least bit unmanly about it.

I lost my dad when I was young suddenly and he and I, while we got along great, never really talked about stuff like that. I won't make the same mistake with the rest of the people I care about.

After cheating death several times I have made it a point to always say I love you to those who are most important to me. I realized after one of those close calls that I would have regretted the last thing said to any of those people being anything other than I love you.

When I was 8 my dad went to work, and died a few hours later (heart attack). I know he loved me, but wish I remember him saying it that morning. So, yes, I do say it, to my wife and to my kids.

    Almost never.

I've been around so many mushy people in my life that said it at the drop of a hat (and often in relationships that imploded anyway), that it feels cheap to me when I say it.

Maybe if I did more, I'd be a happier man. Who knows.

Yes, I do. I am 68 and we never know how many opportunities we have left to say "I Love You" to those special people.

Coming from an alocoholic home, them words was not really used much. Now, I say it when I want to or feel it, not because I "have to." say it. It ain't real then and a relationship will be on the curb soon.

Everyday, lots of times and before we go to sleep at night to the wife. Everytime I see my son, daughter-in-law (more like a daughter) and my grandbabies. They all tell me they love me,give me a hug and sugar, too.
