I shave my cats with an Andis clipper to prevent hairballs and save on cost and hassle / time.

    Does that count? :D

I had been paying for haircuts for 40+ years. It was becoming more inconvenient to get in. "Did you sign in online?" They also started leaving a comb over after telling them I did not want that. I bought Woner Li rechargeable clippers on Amazon last year. Nice clippers. I just buzz my head with the 9 mm guard, then remove the guard to clean up the back of my neck. I'll hang my head over the front porch railing and let the hair fall in the yard, to keep it off of the porch and out of the house. I should have bought the clippers sooner.

Not sure if that’s code for something else... but if it’s cutting hair and saving you money. Yes!

    Yes.

I use electric clippers with a #2 guard.

I've been cutting my own since 2003. I went bald and decided to just shave it all off and keep it that way. I use a set of clippers and hit it two to three times a week with no guard and the blade at the lowest setting.

Easy peasy. If I still had hair, I'd pay a hot chick to do it for me.

This thread inspired me to cut it all off. My mid summer bald look. A lot cooler for sure.

My hair started to go, so it's clippers with a #2 guard. So much easier.

I have, but I hate doing it. I always feel like I'm missing a spot on the back, or not cleaning up my neck as well as I should, etc. I've shaved my head for over 20yrs.. not bald, but really close (usually 1/4 or 1/8). I don't even know what haircuts go for nowadays.

Wife, Mom, Sister... in that order. I've always got a barber. :)

Oh ok. I've never seen a police officer with a man bun. I do see a lot of geezer bikers who are bald on top with a white man bun LOL.

High and tight is very sexy.

Once I realized I didn't have enough hair for my wife or a barber to cut I began shaving my head once every three months. Fast, easy, and works great 75% of the year. Only wintertime creates a problem but then I can wear a light stocking cap over a heavier one, just like I wear two pairs of socks.

It was years ago that I saw the Head blade in Walgreens. I bought it on a whim and only used it once. It didn't do a great job for me. I used mostly Mach 3 blades, than switched to Fusion blades. I would mix in a Schick razor once an while but they were difficult to get clean. Went through a lot of blades. About 4 years ago I switched to a dual edge safety razor. Takes a little more care but have shaved my head for 4 years on what it would cost to shave my head for 2 weeks before.

If someone actually cuts their own hair without the help of another person, how the hell do they get a clean and well-trimmed look in the back? If you don't care about looking scruffy, fine, that's a choice. Otherwise, go to a barber.

I get a buzz cut every 2-3 weeks, depending on whether I have an "occasion" coming up. Pay 15 bucks. I don't mind it.

Not for everyone, I guess. I assume you’re exaggerating on cost savings to make a point that it’s cheaper. I agree it costs less to buy cheap razors, but 2 weeks vs. 4 years sounds like a bit of a stretch.

100 pack of dual edge razors = $10.00
    4 fusion cartridges= $12.00
At most get two shavings out of a cartridge before I can feel it pull hair and not shave smooth . So, yeah I guess it is a stretch. I guess it's more like 3 weeks vs 4 years.
