If so what is a good mag pouch/holster for a glock 23?
Yes, but loose in my pocket and maybe a long one in the car.
Depends on how you carry your 23.
Untucked shirt and jeans, the "watch" pocket is a great place for a 19/23 mag (although it's "strong side" for right handed shooters, which makes it tough to do quick reloads)
I carry two in a double leather holder, but just ordered a couple single kydex from Tacticalkydex here on the forum
I only carry guns that I trust 100%. If I think an area might be dangerous, but have to go, I'll take something with good capacity.
I always carry at least one reload no matter what gun I carry. You probably WON'T need it but...what if you do?
I doubt I'd carry an extra mag, although I don't know anyone that has been in a gunfight and thought they had too much ammo.
Extra mags, particularly for CCW, are more about fixing a malfunction than extra ammo. Glock sport and blackhawk mag carriers work great, and both are reasonably priced.
I agree completely. In the winter, I usually have one in my jacket pocket. In the summer, since I wear baggy cargo shorts a lot, I usually toss one in my pocket.
I just carry two guns, quicker than reloading!!!!
I always carry a reload in my weak side from pocket right next to my cell phone. I have done this for 10 years. At this point I have to carry my reload there because that is where I am going to reach whether it is there or not, that is how I have trained, that is how I respond. I do keep my mag in a small nylon pouch to keep lint out...
I have a double mag pouch, a single mag pouch (Galco Matrix) and pocket carry. And sometimes I do not carry a extra if I am using my G22.
You're missing the point, capacity isn't the issue for most. Every gun has a potential to fail. If a gun has been 100% up to the point you really need it, then the fact it was "99%" is going to be very bad for you.
Yup....I wear 'carpenter' style jeans...the long, thin pocket on the right leg is the perfect size/shape for my spare mag..
J frame in an ankle rig = NY reload
I carry two spare mags weak side in a leather double mag carrier. If I am carrying a Glock, then I carry two of them in seperate Glock Sport carriers one in front of the other on the same side.
I also usually carry a Kel-Tec P3AT in my weak side front pocket.
I have several Galco walkabout holsters with the mag pouch built in and love em for when I want to carry and extra mag....
Yes, I carry a spare mag in a Galco single mag pouch.
