Me neither. I write maybe ten checks a year. CC for most transactions. Auto withdrawal for most recurring bills. Banking app to check on things.
Sometimes I have cash, but not often, but when I do, and someone asks me if I can spare some change, I don't carry cash. Buddy of mine is LE and told me he arrested a homeless guy who thought he was smart getting a card reader for those who didn't have cash when he was panhandling. He's not homeless anymore, he's going to be at the grey bar resort and casino for a while it sounds like.
CC for on line orders,,gas pump,,,walmart grocerey. 200 cash on my person and about 10K cash in safe and 5K in safe deposit box.
With private sale, cash is king. Even with many small privately owned businesses, cash will get your further.
Have to admit, for non-gun purposes at gun shows cash is king. They usually don't charge sales tax on cash transactions.
I carry $2 in the hopes that some youngsters will refuse them thinking they are counterfeit, hasn’t happened yet.
Does anyone remember the TV show "Maverick" how Bret Maverick always kept a 1000 dollar bill pinned inside his coat for emergencies? And yes, 1000 dollar bills did indeed exist at one time. The U.S. stopped printing the $1,000 bill and larger denominations by 1946, but these bills continued circulating until the Federal Reserve decided to recall them in 1969.
Easy for me... Cabela's card (Capitol One). I buy almost all my Christmas gifts with it at almost no cost due to points build up. Although, I do have to admit that Cabela's is noticeably not as good now that Bass Pro bought them.
Yea... I am looking at this situation. Self employed. My SS will not be that great. I have other retirement plans, but my accountant has warned me about SS.
When I go to local Mexican restaurant I’m Amigo cause I pay in cash, when I take my Jeeps to get worked on at a local garage I use cash and get a discount(equivalent to sales tax) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I was much younger I used to try to keep a folded $20 bill in my wallet, tucked into one of the pocket areas, as an "emergency" fund. I say "try" because $20 was a lot of money in those days, and often I needed to spend it for other than a true emergency. Over the years I have raised the amount of cash that I keep in my wallet, just to feel prepared. Usually now I keep between about $200 and $300 most of the time.
That sounds like a good excuse to me. But I just pig out on Coffee, in town, once a week. Then mostly about the only shopping I do is about $100 at Wal Mart. Come to think of it, I haven't "blown" any money in years now, except for buying Drones, and the ones I like are only a few hundred Dollars. (although I have 8+ of them) Lucky I don't like the $1,000+ ones.
