Do LEOs do "photo ticketing" this way?

Yesterday I was on a backroad just cruising at a comfortable and safe speed and over a hill I saw an LEO. I instinctually hit my brakes (I don't even know if I was speeding or not) and as I was passing where he was parked he proceeded to walk from the front to the back of his car and it looked like he was writing something down. Just curious if LEOs log speeders manually then do tickets later through the mail or something like that?

Sudoku, crossword, word search, location and pay of off duty gig, his new badge bunny's phone number, a shopping list for his wife, the URL for Coptalk.....

any number of these are more likely than the issue with which younare concerned.

as per sticky , LEO STUFF GOES IN COPTALK , NOT GNG . the stuff in here goes downhill quickly . so place in correct sub forum.

as per question , prolly writing down the the orders of how many doughnuts to buy for the night shift

Or wishing for retirement to get here, so he can quit hearing all the stereotypes. Speaking of which, I've always heard how poor the educational system in the hills of NC has been - never believed it, since Dad managed well enough, but you know stereotypes and backwards hillbillies.

<---knows the foothills of the Smokies fairly well, since my Dad grew up outside of Waynesville, and I've been to Cherokee for trout more than once.
