This is my "find something to be offended about" thread for the day.

I haven't used a pencil since I left school in the early 2000s. But still.....shame on Dixon Ticonderoga.

When your kids go back to school, make sure they use PROPER American-made pencils. A quick Google Search turns up this:

Good for you Jade. It is a little more work to find American made things and in some cases we aren’t even in the game. I still use pencils but thanks to some enlightenment here I won’t use theirs anymore!

It may seem silly....I mean, it's a pencil. But it just baffled me.....I mean, really? We can't even make PENCILS in this country anymore? You want to outsource PENCIL making? Really?

Glad there's some manufacturers out there that do. Looks like New Jersey, of all places, seems to have a good factory there.

I use a Dixon Ticonderoga pencil every day. I have a dozen more in a drawer for future use. These are twenty some years old. tom. :cowboy:

When I was in grade school a long time ago Ticonderoga #2 pencils and fountain pens with blue-black ink were all the nuns would allow for use. I see differences in quality in the current pencil line compared to the 1950 models. Softer wood, thinner lead, harder to sharpen, etc.

The Factory building still stands to the right-hand side as you enter the Lincoln Tunnel from NJ. It is an old red-brick factory that has been Idol for decades. It may now be Million-dollar condos given its view and proximity to Manhatten.

My kids recently graduated from High School, they did not use paper, pens, or pencils, everything was done on ipads...

I recently looked to buy some lead for the cheap plastic Wearever mechanical pencil I've had for 50 years and keep in my range bag. For $5 shipped, I got 24 Bic mechanical pencils. Turns out they were made in France.

That's racist. Something wrong with 'White Warrior'?

I remember using these, back in the day:

I like the mechanical pencils for in the car and away from home. Won’t freeze and you don’t have to sharpen them or worry about breaking the tip.
I imagine you have one of these.
