No doubt... and dont forget about the chikflu virus as well. Millions of the male species get hit with that horrible virus everyday. Good enough reason for me to stay away from chik`s entirely! ;)

I believe a lot of misinformation is being spread.

the “meat ban” is less about human to human viruses but about parasites, flies and other pests that can live in the meat and then spread. Yes EBOLA can be in the meat but that type of transmission between species is rare. Note, if she had finished eating the sandwich on the plane , no one would care .

Go watch “ To Catch a Smuggler “ where they interview the customer officers as they do their jobs.

SARS precautions did include using infrared cameras to see if passengers had a fever before being allowed on airplane fights. It still spread to Canada.

We had an case of an American with TB, banned from flying to the US and reentry. He still knowingly endangered a flight full of people and got in thru Vis Canada

    https://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/01/health/01cnd-tb.html

Dealing with people with highly infectious diseases was among the jobs had to handle as cop . It’s one of the many hazards I have had to train for and actually carried out on more than one occasion.

Most of the species jumping transmissions occur when the human is living among a living animal vector. This includes the Reston VA Ebola case or recently deceased and not properly cooked animal.

I receive two farm magazines. I will add this. When I sell soybeans from the farm, they are fungible goods. When fungible goods like grains are sold in the USA, they can be resold to a foreign buyer (or if you would like, a middleman). The middle man can be a foreign national. That national can and will ship grain from port to port to conceal the origin. (Hint, during the Balkan Wars, munitions shipments from the USA had an end-users certificate and approval by the Secretary of State. The munitions would never be delivered to the country on the end-users certificate. The ship would stop in a Greek port, then change the destination and go to Croatia). Having laid it out how easy it was to conceal a real destination when permits to export were required, shipments from the US did end up in the PRC. Now, the PRC imports grains through certain companies. I happen to know (no citation will be given) that some of the grain was received by a PRC entity that was not the usual buyer and no enhanced import duty was paid on it. Remember, the PRC is not capitalistic. It is the political party (not a real "country") operating any number of "companies" which are not US type/French type/British type companies. They are state enterprises.

Yes, Brazil received big orders. However, it was Brazilian companies receiving the orders and you won't know where the soybeans really came from because they don't have micro chips embeded - just humor.

So, you can recover, but also then be a carrier of a strain of Ebola that remains active and sexually transmissible.

    Lovely.

Well, there goes Homo sapiens. Hasta la vista, humanity.

Bathe pigs in Wasabi. It will kill any germ, plus season the meat for future consumption.

    Fortunately, there is a vaccine.

We really have dodged a bullet with Swine Fever considering how widespread it’s becoming. If it had the ability to jump to humans, we’d be in big trouble.

That would take some genetic engineering. Not to worry, I’m sure something will come out of China eventually.

I had a thought. If the hog population is wiped out worldwide, I can see China coming up with a solution.

Turkey bacon is a reality, so why not bat bacon?
