    Last post of the night...

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone here have this issue and if you do, did you have surgery for it? And how did it go?

I ended up with a large horizontal tear, surgeon trimmed and planed the discoid meniscus to a "normal" shape and it still hurts like a motherfletcher three months later, even after 8 PT sessions.

My surgeon, who is a dimwit and a dink, says he is "baffled". Mhe's also insinuated, and not very subtly, that I'm BSing about my pain levels and that his surgery should have "fixed everything". (ego much? :steamed: )

I'm fairly sure I was his first case of DM as it's relatively uncommon, so he went by the book. I also had a perimeniscal cyst that, in watching the video, was never drained or excised.

I'm not exactly your rocking chair momma, and after having sidelined for the summer on dirtbiking, the prospect of snowboarding is looking grim. I'm accustomed to 'boarding in pain (remember the foot?!) but I'm wondering if I should head to a different surgeon and get this looked at again before winter hits.

    Any knee gurus out there?

Get a second opinion, for sure. Every Doctor has different techniques and experiences.

    Tidbit of info.

I used to work at a Casino in St. Louis, Mo. Lots of famous and not so famous athletes went there. Almost to a man, every professional athlete 50 and over sort of hobbled when they walked. Every single one had at least a limp.

    Injuries catch up with you.

Get thee to an experienced specialist. Dicking around with the current guy is unlikely to get anything solved.
