Search for it on YouTube. I cant post a link to it as it is completely inappropriate for American audiences. There is something weird/strange about this band that draws them to you or you to them. The fact that they are foreign and their pop culture is different, they are weird, a little sexy in a strange way etc etc. Most of you wont like the music but you should still check out the video just so you can see the strangeness and what pop culture is currently like in South Africa.

Uhhhh, no. Hell no. I'm still pretty sure she sang "Barbie Girl" 20 years ago. Awful music then. Awful music now. (At least Barbie Girl was a joke - they never THOUGHT it would go anywhere - it was just funny to them. These people are serious.)

There music is not my thing either but I do find it fascinating. I like seeing what is happening and popular in other cultures. I like her prayer at the dinner table, it has a sincerity to it. She thanks God for all the good things that have happened to her weird band.

The first time I heard them I thought, 'wtf is this junk?' They have grown on me though and I like a most of their stuff now. Knowing that they are goofballs and playing characters to shock people helps with the enjoyment as well.

He's coming to play in my area in a couple months, I might have to go and check him out. I do like a few of his songs.

I just have a hard time with how much they worship that whole ghetto/trailer trash lifestyle. Very tacky.

People should know that they are playing characters. Google, Max Normal, if you want to see who/what they used to be. It is really them singing and it really is their music but the whole ZEF thing is an act. They are huge in europe and getting bigger in america. I remember when they were on Letterman not to long ago. They make dance club music, music to jump around to. No harm no foul I say ...

I saw entirely too many dicks in that last video to even give it a shot.

I've never been able to listen to, let alone enjoy dance music. Just rubs me the wrong way. So it's unlistenable to me.

That is sig-line worthy right there.

I don't think they worship it, in fact, I think they are being satirical.

And you could be entirely right. I saw a video interview with him where he was talking about the "poor people who still have style". I could be missing the joke. I'm not a part of that scene so it wouldn't surprise me.

    THIS.
I am South African, and I can't stand the fact that this is all fake.
Wadford Tudor Jones grew up very English, very middle class, and played with various performance art. I think this whole "Zef" thing (a made up nonsense concept) was probably meant as a satirical joke, until they realized they could make sh**loads of money from it. So now they have stupid accents, a chick with a persona meant to appeal to paedophiles, and are the latest thing in music.
So except for the fact that it is all a lie, and nothing they say is real...I guess as art it works. As music..not so much.

Just don't be fooled with horrible fake accents by a married couple who pretend they grew up rough. He graduated from a fancy school, and has never tasted any of the rough life he pretends to live.
