Did you know that John M Browning designed the AR 15, and that Eugene Stoner just took the credit for it?

That is what I learned at the gunshop today.

Yea:upeyes:
Yes. Browning also designed the Colt Python, and actually designed a turbo charger for the Ford Model T, but Henry Ford didn't want to build a car that fast.
the Wright brothers stole that glider from JMB's garage...

Hmmm. JMBs designs seemed to work off the bat.:dunno:
I had some dimwitt brow-beat me about my usage of the term 'sound suppressor'. According to him, the proud owner of a 5.56 'silencer' sitting in the shop's safe waiting on his Form 4, a 'sound suppressor' is illegal, while a 'silencer' is legal, provided a $200 tax stamp on your form 4. Apparently a 'sound suppressor' doesn't have baffles while a 'silencer' does.

I finally had to leave because the jackass wouldn't stop interrupting me while talking to a clerk about their Yankee Hill shippment. He wouldn't even back down when I pointed out to him that his 'silencer' was listed as a 'sound suppressor' on Yankee Hill's website. I ended up just leaving.
I dimly remember hearing many years ago, a story about how the Soviets had claimed that the M1911 pistol was a copy of their Tokarev Pistol. Supposedly the Tokarev had come first, and the Browning designed M1911 was a knock off of it. That was pure BS.

The Soviets were master copiers of other's works. They even copied a captured B29 right down to the patched bullet holes in the aircraft's skin!

John Browning 1855-1926 Kinda puts a wrinkle in that theory.
Wilhelm Bubits designed the Glock, it must be true because it keeps being repeated on this forum with no corroboration.

Kinda what I was thinking, I didn't mention it to the guy making the claim, but I thought it was a bit odd.

He really must be very displeased over the forward assist.
I hear John Browning invented plutonium too.
Browning made a cool front shifting system for bicycles.
One of the many reasons I go to gun shop, get in, and get out. Get what I need and I am out of there. The last time I went to the gun shop the Clerk looked like some one had bludgeoned him with a bat, I asked what had happened.....He proudly boasted that he had auditioned for the "Ultimate Fighter," but didn't make it........

The gun shop here I deal with the owner who for the most part is okay, no nonsense but right now he has this young guy that is a tool and half. I will only go in to buy if he is there....and will call in before I go.....
