I had two backstraps, and decided I wanted to do a roast with them.

I took both, rolled them in salt, pepper, & dried onions.

Stuck 'em into the crock pot and added a can of Coors Light.

They cooked overnight and today are quite yummy.

    I was somewhat impressed. :dunno:

Furthermore, you have hit upon the only suitable use for Coors Light.

Congratulations! I'm glad you're getting that crockpot working for you. Sounds yummy.

I agree, that's a good way to use cheap beer. I've used real beer before and it's tasty, but somehow just seems wrong to cook with good beer.

Glad that worked out for you .... Just sear them in a pan with a little hot oil (so they don't stick) no need to hide the taste with all the additives. Back straps are so tender that I would think overnight in a crock pot would turn them to mush. Now a roast on the other hand is fantastic in a cp.

just my take on it .....

I would take a coors light over any old milwaukee, busch, bud, or bud light any day of the week. I prefer the original coors though, if given a choice.
