So to preface this post, about my most recent Glock purchase, it should be known that I am a LEO that uses Glock 9mm firearms solely. This is not to say I am blind of other firearm manufactures and other fantastic firearms in the modern striker fire, SA/DA, and Hammer fired markets. I am very aware that there are guns out there with different and more plentiful features than Glock, but Glock is what I chose to carry for various reasons including cross compatibility of the double stack 9mm mags, serviceability, simplicity, and market saturation of Glock spare parts. I also personally find that I love the Glock's ergonomics (weird right?) and grip angle (feels more natural when punching out and acquiring my sight picture, for me). I keep all of my Glocks bone stock, except I do have Glock factory night sights on all of my carry pistols:

For work: Glock 17 Gen 4 with a TLR-1 HL mounted light
For concealed carry: Glock 26 Gen 4 or Glock 19 Gen 4

These are the only handguns that I own and for the foreseeable future, will be the only guns I ever carry. (mostly due to me being currently qualified by annual qualifications through my law enforcement agency with these firearms)

Now on to my recent buy. I have always wanted a Glock 17 Gen 2 for fun and to have. With that said, living in a big city in TX, I rarely, if ever, see them up for sale.

    What I paid: $750 cash

    What I received:

    2 Glock 17 Gen 2's
matching serial numbers on frame slide and barrel for both
-Serial number starting AFK... with normal Glock proof markings
-Serial number starting GA... with Austrian proof markings

4 older Glock 17 mags (1 of which had extra markings as pictured, stating it was for LEO/military use only, and it was from 1994)

2 31 round high capacity mags

400 rounds of 9mm Winchester white box 124 grain
400 rounds of 9mm Winchester white box 115 grain
50 rounds Hornandy steel match 125 grain
    25 rounds of Winchester pdx1 defender 9mm +p 124 grain

When looking for the unusual it’s not a matter of whether you paid too much or not. It’s just a matter of getting what you wanted and being satisfied with it. As long as you aren’t buying to resale at a profit the value of certain guns is what someone is willing to pay.

be careful about posting that you have stolen guns in your posession.

you got a screaming good deal. you could sell off the mags and the worst gun and pay for most of your purchase. if you wanted to...

i like the gen 2 glocks best and think glock had it all together back then. no MIM parts and reliable everything. the tennifer metal treatment was excellent ( under the finish , not visible ) and i just think that glock quality control was best then.

Absurdly good deal. Your STD barrel Glock was test fired May of ‘89.

I only ask because before the Gen 5 release, I knew Gen 2’s were valued for the frame features such as no finger-grooves and the mag cut out. With people going as far as making customizations to the Gen 3 and 4 frames to make them more like what the Gen 2 offers.

I was wondering if the the Gen 5 release devalued the Gen 2 as far as used gun sales/trading goes. After the overwhelming positive response I feel good about my impulsive buy now.
