Does Glock make a Gen 4 17L now?
If so, totally missed it..
Nope, not yet
And probably never..............
For whatever reasons, the Glock 17l has long been discontinued...
As of at least 2011, they're still making small batches. My buddy has a born on dated 2011 G17L (Gen3).
Mine's one of my favorite guns
I sure hope that they continue to do that. If they do the 17L as a Gen4, I am in.
I just bought a NIB Gen 3 with a 1/27/12 test fire date. I just finished adding DP sights and a Vanec trigger one hour ago. Can't wait to get it to the range.
Yeah they do a small production run every few years right? Well, I think they did a production run in both 2010 and 2011 so maybe it just depends on how many people ask for them or maybe a large distributor will ask Glock to make a few hundred for them and that's how they do it.
Gen 4 now available:
Gen 4 frame but not a Gen 4 slide...Nice try though
Oh snap. Thought I'd fool ya.
The G17L, G24 and G24C are limited production models and Glock usually does one run a year. Being limited production, I doubt that Glock would retool the slides for Gen4.
Glock cut back production years ago due to the sizing limits of IPSC and IDPA. The longslides are too long to fir the "Box". That is why Glock created the G34 & G35 in 1998.
You had me goin' for a second. :embarassed:
