It has been a while since I checked the velocity of Federal's 9mm 115gr JHP +p+, 9BPLE. I have a 4.6 inch threaded barrel on my G19 and I have a Walther PPQ with a 4.6 inch factory melonited barrel in it. In the past, especially before the white box packaging, I would be lucky to break 1,300fps. Just tested two lots of the white box today with an average lowest velocity out of the Glock at 1,351fps and an average highest velocity out of the PPQ of 1,379fps. I was astonished and checked some known velocity loads to see if the chronograph was on, and it was. The Melonite/Tennifer treated barrel on the PPQ always give higher velocities than stainless steel KKM barrels. I have never found a velocity advantage with stock Glock Barrels. Even so, with the other lot, the Glock with the KKM barrel average 1,361fps. I know most people seem to want to go with other 9mm offerings for self defense, but I always felt confident with the 9BPLE when I carry the 9mm. I usually carry a 357Sig.
