I am looking for a descent sub-compact .45acp to add to the collection. I would like to stay under $700. I was considering the Kahr P-45, and the Taurus Pt-145. I am not interested in Glock, Sig Sauer, or H&K because I already own them. Any advice is welcome, I know there maybe some descent sub compacts out there that I don't know about.

I would go with the Kahr and stay away from the Taurus semi-autos.

I'd save the $700 for something better.

Don't see it happening. Pony up a little extra and get a New Agent.

I like how half the posters are telling the OP to spend more, and somehow spending less equates to a less reliable firearm. Kahr makes a quality pistol, and so does S&W. The question is what kind of trigger do you want? If you like the striker fired, double action type then there are many pistols to choose from. If you want a single action tyoe then you're limited to 1911's and similar pistols with exposed hammers.

The Kahr is a nice gun. Just make sure you like the trigger reach. It may be a little short for you.

Kahr CW/P45 and the M&P get my vote.

One more choice would be to find a older Sig P245 I think they are around 650 and under. I have nothing but good to say about Kahr mine was a K40 though.

IMHO (based on long experience). Taurus? Nope. Kahr? Sure, if they made a metal-framed ("K" or "T") .45acp. S&W M&P .45C? Absolutely! But it's a compact, not a sub-compact. I would still pick it in your price-range...and spend any remaining budget on a Bowie Tactical trigger re-work.
