Going to the dentist in an hour for a "check up and cleaning".
Only place I hate more is a car lot.
I know what you mean. I haven't been since 2001. I had alot of bad experiences as a kid and it's been hell ever since.
Last dentist always wanted to fix something. ...
At least there wont be any shots in the gums to numb the area, or drills.
i just went for the first time in ten years on tuesday. it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. still cavity free! they did have a cool new xray maching thing though. the piece you bite on had a usb cord and it went directly into the computer and you had instant imaging. apparently i brush too hard and got rid of some enamel so that had to be fixed. two shots in the jaw and a little drilling. not bad. you will be fine i am sure.
Your teeth have to be maintained just like a car. Let a problem go too long and the fix will be expensive.
I had some bad experiences as a kid too. I don't mind going now though, 1 root canal and two caps later. The last cavity I had filled I went no Novocaine, no problem. My new dentist is a woman with considerably smaller hands and considerably larger than the guy she replaced. NICE.
Dentists have come a long ways in the last 10 years. Just make sure you go to one that has the latest equipment. Ask around for references.
I went for years without going and it took a lot of work and $$ to fix that but now that I'm back on schedule it's no big deal anymore. There is more than just your teeth to worry about if you let things go. Gum disease and long term health problems from the bacteria in your system are some. Bad breath and nasty looking teeth are just minor ones.
Oh, I thought this was a place where you could become a dentist in an hour.
Sorry to disappoint u captain america
That class is on Tuesday and it lasts for hour and a half.
Could be worse..... Could be an endoscope exam........
Is it safe?
I go every 6 months. been doing that for over 50 years. no problems.
BTW-- I hate car lots more, especially new car dealers and their moron salespeople.
Got My Wisdom teeth out Last night, easiest Dentist experience I have ever had! Hardly even hurts today
Had a root canal a few years back. It really wasn't that bad.. I find that when I relax and think of happy things like OD Glocks, the pain subsides considerably. Goes to show you how powerful the mind can be.
I also underwent oral surgery a few years back to get my impacted wisdoms removed. 8 in total. I woke up in the middle of surgery to the sound of my teeth being crushed. Thankfully, the anesthesia was still effective. The nurse kicked it up a notch and I was out like a bulb. My stupid body soaks up numbing agents like there's no tomorrow, even on an empty stomach.
I'd rather have a hot poker shoved up my ***.Good luck with that.
I have two words for every person who hates the dentist as much as I do...
You get a prescription for some little white pills. You take said little white pills half an hour before your appointment. You sit in the waiting room giggling a little and wondering why you never realized how freakin' sweet sunbeams are. You go sit in the chair. And, voila, you come to about three or four hours later, just as the novocaine is beginning to fade.
Modern chemistry is a wondrous thing.
Bring along someone you trust and that can handle you to help walk you back out to the car and make sure you don't go Glock-Talker Gone Wild in the parking lot, just in case.
Floss your teeth EVERY night before you brush and you can maybe keep your teeth and gums.
