Better read the details on this one folks--you won't believe it: -State/Local and Union workers exempt from the tax till 2017 (when Obama leaves office) I can't wait to hear Pelosi discuss why this is such a great idea... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/14/deal-reportedly-reached-taxing-cadillac-plans/
Nice payoff for the Democrats biggest block of contributors. As for myself, I'm thinking of changing my religious preference to Amish.
This is pretty telling... Job Approval | | Approve | | Disapprove | | Spread Obama | | 47.7% | | 45.3% | | +2.4% Congress | | 27.3% | | 66.8% | | -39.5% Direction of Country | | Right Direction | | Wrong Track | | Spread RCP Average | | 36.1% | | 56.3% | | -20.2% Sorry if the formatting is off...
This out to *really* play well with general public... Gee, another "giveway" to a special group (such as Nebraska or Louisiana) - and this is the group with the pensions and wage demands that are sinking the ship already. From the anti-Democrat angle, this is just SWEET - absolutely something else to hang around their neck and weight them to the bottom with! kestrou
When is the final vote??? I'm wondering if it's a big deal if Scott Brown wins in MA on Tuesday. Will one more Republican be able to stall this at all??
I hope he wins. A poll shown on Fox shows Brown with a lead. I hope he wins so the Obama's social welfare dream can be stopped.
The general thinking is that the democrats will try to delay certification of the election if he does win.
Obama is doing a full-court press to resolve the differences between the House and Senate's version of the bill. He needs to have the interim MA senator vote, or have Coakley win. Stall tactics will be in full play if Brown wins. It's a big deal. Filibuster.
Can this be reversed once a large portion of the incumbents from both sides are thrown out by the people?
Would be tough to reverse it, unless the Republicans win a BUNCH of seats in November. Enough to completely reverse the balance even more so than it is now in the Dems favor.
They're not talking much about that at the moment. Don't know if it's just that they don't want to be seen as conceding defeat or if they actually have a plan. I do know that the Dems have taken every means available to them to not have it repealed. They've even put in the bill that no Congress after them can change it, something thats quite unconstitutional. But shucks, so is most of the entire bill. They just hope to have it tied up in the courts so long, that all the boards and control steps will be in place, and they just have to find something for them to do, right? I suspect many Repubs will run on repealing it, but once in office......they'll balk. If that happens, watch out. All bets about an uprising will be off. A year ago I would not have thought it possible. But now..................
Yes, The Dems need all 60 votes to make this filibuster proof and pass it. If Brown gets elected and seated in time, the healthcare bill is toast.
....ummmm....where's the "Unions do nothing but great things for this country" crowd? They're here somewhere...I just wanted to hear how this one gets spun.
You won't sir. They're very selective in their comments. Just when they believe they can actually make a point, they'll come running. When something like this happens, they're quite the silent bunch. Sort of like their "beliefs", when something happens they think they can advantage of **poof**, they're there. But when the truth shows them for what they are, nothing. They're comfortable with how they see things, they've based their entire lives on it. They will not let something like facts or the truth deter them now. They can't, they're afraid.
Which is why the Dems are rushing to ram this thing through. Its also why they are gearing up to challenge Brown if he wins and to delay seating him if he does win. They are going to do everything they can to lie, cheat, and steal the election in MA just so they can pass this disaster of a health care bill.
