If the Democrats sweep the House, Senate, and Presidency, what effects do you think it will have on our current gun rights?

I received my carry license in 1980 @ 21, so I remember the pre Firearm Owners Proaction Act of 1986. Here is what I think.

No more mail order ammunition, powder, or primers.

An excessive federal tax on ammunition

    10 round magazine limit

No additional items to be added to the NFA Registry, not just machine guns as it is now.

No new sales of what the Democrats would classify as Assault Weapons.

I do not think the Democrats will require surrendering existing magazines over 10 rounds

I do not think the Democrats will require surrendering existing (what they classify as) Assault Weapons.

I do not think the Democrats will require surrendering existing NFA items.

What are your thoughts in a worse case scenario?

Biden already said no one needs anything other than a shotgun and a revolver - and then corrected it to add single-shot hunting rifles.

    That's the plan for starters.

What effects on gun ownership? Just think what Josef Stalin,Mao Tse Tung or Kim Jung Un did to their people. These democrats are the same and once your right to own a firearm is erased your other rights will follow.

I believe all our 2nd Amendment privileges will remain in place. That's the checks and balances that come between the legislation and the judicial system. Pass a law. People don't like it; challenge. . .go to court, appeal and reach the Supreme Court.

    Isn't it "conservative" now?

Just an FYI, Conservative Democrats own guns. . .lots of them. I also just asked myself what's the difference between a conservative/liberal gun owning Democrat. . .that owns weapons?

We would be pinning our hopes on SCOUS. -A very shaky SCOTUS as long as our Chief Justice sees it as his job to “balance the court.”

Far better to avoid that altogether.

If they sweep (hopefully that doesn't happen), I hope they come out strong and try to ban everything. Put mag limits and AWBs up for review by the SCotUS. The notorious ACB can write her first majority decision.

The Dems have been incredibly bitter and angry the last four years. If they get control of the Senate, House, and WH, they'll be looking for payback. Going full retard on gun control is one way they can really stick it to conservatives.

So I'd say, expect the worst.

I'll order the New Glock 17 Gen 6. I will come with both a 1 round mag and a 2 round mag.
Can't use the 2 round mag in NY or California.

I agree with you except that if the Democrats get Congress and the White House they will move forward with a mandatory buy-back on detachable-magazine semi-automatic rifles.

I went through old inventory and found 8 G19 and G17 AWB 10 rounders. So I guess that's a start...

LOL. Haven't been paying attention, have you? The Dems will pack the court with leftist, activist judges that will declare any anti-gun law "constitutional". Remember that in Heller, four justices were willing to uphold D.C.'s complete ban on gun ownership.

I expect an attempt to bring back the Clinton crime bill restrictions. Maybe more, depending on how many school shootings happen.

Except they won't pass anything that goes to the SCOTUS until after President Harris packs the court.

NJ outlawed hi-cap mag possession over a year ago. Last I heard NONE were turned in.

But...my niece lives in NJ and bought a G19 5 years ago. The state knows she has it-and that it came with two (or three) hi-caps.

So link some databases. She is stopped for blowing a traffic light. A quick computer search. "Where is your magazine turn-in receipt?"

This is what can happen when the political climate changes. Dems love authoritarianism.

    Here's what will happen...

The Senate will eliminate the filibuster.
Congress will increase the number of SCOTUS justices to 13.
Harris will nominate four leftist judges. The Senate will approve on a party-line vote.
Congress and/or the states will pass sweeping new gun control. The SCOTUS will declare all of them constitutional.

Bing, bang. The Second Amendment is toast.
